Making Sense of Analyst Stock Recommendations

If the stock recommendations provided by the analysts were all reliable, it would be really simple to pick stocks and make profits. Research suggests that if you had to count all the stock recommendations, there would be 10 times as many “buys” as “sells”. Also, the recent stock market activity suggests that the stock forecasts by analysts are less accurate than they appear to be.

However, with all the hard work put in there is definitely value in the analysts research. For investors, the real work is to tell which “Buys” or “Sells” are worth caring about and which one’s are not.
